ABOUT JULIE
Hi, I'm Julie Settle

MY BACKGROUND
Julie Settle arrived in St. Augustine the way only a college student can: she applied to Flagler College in the mid 80s, was accepted, and showed up on Move-In Day without ever having seen the campus. In the middle of a tropical storm, no less.
Her goals were simple: find an affordable college, get the beach out of her system, and avoid the dreaded Freshman 15. She found all three thanks to a little tri-fold Flagler College brochure sitting unattended on a table at a random college fair. Some might call it luck. Others might call it destiny.
What began as a leap of faith became a lifelong connection to St. Augustine.
Alma Mater
Julie graduated with dual majors in English and Communication and was part of the university's first graduating class of Communication majors. She went on to join Turner Broadcasting, where she worked for TNT and also helped launch Turner Classic Movies (TCM). During her decade-long career in television, she worked alongside Hollywood legends, coordinated behind-the-scenes productions, served on the board of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (the organization behind the Emmy Awards), and managed backstage operations for Atlanta's annual Emmy ceremonies. From there the leap to MCI to produce worldwide corporate events for a few more years.
Along the way, Julie got married, bought a home, raised two wonderful children, and accumulated a few feline family members before finally adding a dog to the mix (he's a sweet Husky for those curious).
Her career then shifted into technology, where she helped launch, operate, and eventually wind down a boutique data center. She later joined a regional data center company and helped create a highly successful channel sales program. Those experiences gave her firsthand knowledge of the opportunities and challenges that come with technology, infrastructure, growth, and economic development.
After making Lincolnville home, Julie transitioned into the mortgage industry, helping families navigate one of the most important financial decisions of their lives. Today, she leads marketing efforts for Land Title of America, the longest-standing title company in St. Johns County, where she continues to work closely with homeowners, business owners, real estate professionals, and community leaders.
Through every chapter of her career, from media and technology to finance and real estate, Julie has built a reputation for bringing people together, solving problems, and communicating with honesty and transparency.
Now she's ready to put that experience to work for the city she loves.
Julie is running for St. Augustine City Commission because she believes our city deserves thoughtful leadership that balances preservation with progress, listens before acting, and puts residents first. She is committed to helping St. Augustine grow responsibly, protect its unique character, and ensure that future generations can enjoy the same opportunities that brought her here decades ago.
Responsible. Compassionate. Honest. That's the leadership Julie Settle will bring to St. Augustine.
